As you probably know, we (Sister Machine Gun) have a new record coming out. As you also know, new records mean new cover art. Since Wax Trax! hasn't shown me anything that knocks me out, I thought I would make a contest of it. So, here's the deal...

The record is going to be named "Burn." Obviusly, the name of the band, and the title of the album should both be on the cover, and it can't be offensive. Other than that, I am willing to consider just about anything, as long as it doesn't look anything like the last two records. You should send me a mock-up of the cover only. Don't worry about the gate-fold, CD or back cover. Don't send disks. Service bureau output only...

The winner will be chosen by Jim Nash, the president of Wax Trax!, and myself. He or she will recieve the contract to do the cover art, and possibly a couple of singles. That will amount to about $4000.00. Feel free to send as many different styles as you want. Be sure and have your name, phone number, address, and e-mail ON EACH OUTPUT. As the winner will have to deal with a lot of nonsense from TVT about everything under the sun, I would suggest not entering unless you have a reasonable amount of knowledge of what goes in to making the artwork for an album.
